DSEAR Risk Assessments
DSEAR is The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002. The regulations require employers to identify any such substances, control the risks associated with them, train staff in how to deal with them and put plans and procedures into place to monitor deal with any incidents.
Most operators will already have DSEAR Risk Assessments and Emergency Procedures in place but like many legislative requirements, the ‘live document’ lies dormant on a shelf or somewhere in the filing system.
We can help you to check that the current situation is not only up to date but is correct for the business as you are currently operating – ensuring your classification zones are up to date and your staff are fully aware of the requirements and your procedures.
The DSEAR Survey we have developed combines an overview of your business with specific areas of importance eg:
- Fire/explosion (emergency escape and fire fighting equipment)
- Environmental issues (surface drainage checks and inspection)
- Maintenance (man chambers inspected and cleaned)
Our service also includes a full written report along with digital photographs for you to keep.
